The last season of little League Football

It is 2005, my last year of Panther football. Conditioning is what we start out with. We run and run, do push-up and sit-ups tile are arms fall off. We do drills over and over again, and do the basics. 15 guys started the season, but with just enough to make a football team. After two weeks of conditioning the team puts on a helmet and your head cooks like an oven.

Then weigh-ins, and if you are over 130pounds, you don’t get to play. We lost three guys because they were over the limit. So the season starts off at home. it is a well fought game I get some big hits in at linebacker. But we lose, and back to another week at practice. We go through are plays again and again, till we get them right.

The teams we face have two times as many players as we do. So we go game-by-game, practice-by-practice, and we lose again and again. Soon one of are teammates is doing it his way and his way. So finally he quits, and I become a captain of our team.  A couple of games before our last game we had a team sleep over, and were playing Madden 2006, and NCAA 2006.  We all had fun as a team.

But then it is our LAST game of the season and we are hoping for a win. Our team starts out with the ball. We're driving down the field farther and farther. But then, our quarterback throws the ball long. It’s going higher and higher, till then it comes back down into the wide receiver’s hands and he runs in for the touchdown. Our team celebrates and we make the two-point conversion. Now it's the second quarter and the other team has the ball and our defense hasn't let them cross the 50-yard line. At half time, we go over some last minute suggestions.  So in the third quarter, the other team throws the ball long, and they score.  Now its tied at 8 to 8, and we drive an drive, but we just can't reach the end zone.  During the fourth quarter, both teams try and try but neither one can score. Despite these efforts, the game clock runs out. Then both teams agree to overtime. The referee tells each team "You will each get 4 downs, and if you score the other team has a chances to come back and tie it up in 4 downs." The ref flips the coin and the other team gets the ball first.

But no matter how hard they tried the Panther defense keeps them out of the end zone. Now its our turn to have the ball. We run two plays and we SCORED!!  We're celebrating and we're jumping on each other. But the game was not over. The other team gets the ball again. They try three unsuccessful plays. On the fourth play, the quarterback tries to run the ball, but we sack him. We win! We win! And that’s the way the cookie crumbles.
